Cars & Crops

Ford Forward- Seems as though Ford is going to make a major announcement this Thursday regarding its way forward. All speculation is about Ford truck plants being converted to manufacture additional small lines of autos. Look for more adoptions of their smaller class vehicles sold outside the US? I must give Ford some credit, though their moves seem out of dire necessity. To his credit, William Ford has been a leading advocate of sustainability, so I imagine it must be similar to turning an ocean liner on a dime to try to get Ford more competitive in this area. Now let’s hope that finally American car consumers contribute their part to this equation of a healthy small auto market.

Local Eating Trend- Curious story in today’s NYT written by Kim Severson about people trending toward eating local; it seems businesses have sprung up that will plant, grow and maintain an organic garden for those people too busy or short of green thumbs. It all comes full circle, as I can remember as a kid only eating fresh produce all summer from my grandfather’s garden.

MOMA House- A very cool show just opened at the Museum of Modern Art here in New York City exhibiting prefab architecturally significant homes on land adjacent to the museum on mid-town. Go to this blog to experience what these architects went through to design, transport and assemble one of these homes.
