More China

China, again- I wanted to have a light weekend of blogging so find these pictures of some of the architecture being realized in Beijing for the coming Olympic games. Clockwise from bottom: The Opera House designed by Paul Andreu, National Aquatics Center or the Water Cube designed by PTW Architecture, Olympic Stadium or the Birdnest designed by Herzog & de Meuron, . These buildings convey so much hope, aspiration and innovation. If only the Chinese government would apply the same principles to its peoples and Tibet.

Tesla- Interesting story in today’s NYT by Joe Nocera discussing the development of the Tesla, amongst other ideas for electric vehicles. It’s fascinating that perhaps the Silicon Valley may become the Detroit of the future.

FSOT, goodbye- I took the Foreign Service Test yesterday. Due to the onerous document I signed, I do not feel compelled to discuss the test in any detail. I can say writing a substantive essay on environmental policy in thirty minutes is nearly impossible.
